What is Post Stroke Rehabilitation?

Post-stroke rehabilitation is an essential part of any individual suffering from a stroke. Conclusion: there is a certain process that can help improve motor skills, thus improving quality of life.

There are many known approaches to the process of stroke rehabilitation, including home care for stroke patients in Singapore. However, the overall rehabilitation plan depends mainly on the type and part of the body that has been affected by stroke.

Some recommended physical exercises include the following procedures:

The Exercise for Motor Skills:

These exercises are good for improvement in motor skills. Mainly these are good for coordination and muscular strength of the body parts. There is some other therapy that is meant to strengthen the swallowing muscles.

The Mobility Training:

People recovering from stroke tend to use mobility aid a lot. These aids are helpful towards facilitating the mobility of the patient. The key aids are an ankle brace, walker, wheelchair, and canes. The ankle brace is good for strengthening the support to the ankle muscles. Also, the overall weight of the body is managed that helps in easy walk.

The Constraint-Induced Therapy:

When you try to walk with the infected limb, the unaffected limb also finds it hard to go along with the infected one. The therapy is needed for facilitating such muscular movements. The therapy is mainly called forced use therapy and has been found good for improving muscle strengths.

The Therapy for Range of Motion:

To relax the tension of the muscular movements, there are some other therapies as well. You can regain the motion range once you become habitual of these exercises.

Technological Therapies:

Some other technological prone physical activities also relax the muscles and improve the stroke patients’ movement pattern.

The Robotic Technology:

With the help of robotic technology, impaired limbs can do better along with repetitive motion. The reinforcement of the activities strengthens the limbs and their functions.

Functional Electrical Stimulation:

Mainly, the use of electricity means muscular contraction. But the electrical stimulation can further improve muscle strength.

The Wireless Technology:

With the activity motion, post-stroke activities can do wonders for all patients.

Virtual Reality Games:

Some virtual reality video games are based on computers. These activities are key to stimulating muscular movement in the real world.

Emotional & Cognitive Therapies:

Then there are some emotional and cognitive therapies for stroke patients as well:

For Cognitive Disorder:

Here, you can get help from speech therapy or occupational therapy. These activities help boost lost cognitive skills like problem-solving, safety awareness, processing memory, and judgment.

The Psychological Treatment and Evaluation:

This treatment is all about the adjustment of the emotion. It involves counseling or group activities for improvement.

For Communication Disorders:

There are some therapies for enhancing speech disabilities in people. These activities include writing, speaking, comprehension, and listening exercises.

About Medication:

Some medical solutions involve the use of some medicines for treatment purposes. Some are antidepressant or medication that improves movements and alertness.

These are the therapies that are being used by different people all across the globe. The key is to check the patient’s medical condition after stroke and identify the part of the body that has been impacted the most.
